When I was young, I was painfully shy. I was quiet. Someone once asked my mother if I was mute! I remember always wanting to just melt into the background of whatever was around me. I wanted to disappear.

If there was something that needed to be said, or something I wanted heard, I was usually able to speak up. But it was still terrifying.

Learning how to speak up and stand in my truth has been a lifelong journey. Sometimes it’s easier to melt into the background, to let the voices that are louder than yours dominate. It can feel like the kind and wise thing to do to not rock boat. But what about that tiny voice? What about those words that never received breath?

Underneath it all is a wild and magic truth that can only escape from your lips, your pen, your brush. Set this creature free. We’re waiting…
